My Believe

Cartoons? Hell yeah Cartoons!

I am a 22 year old college senior and you know what the best part of my day is? Sitting down in front of my TV and watching cartoons before I go to bed. That's right, you read it correctly. I love cartoons. Apparently people my age a supposed to watch Lost, Prisonbreak, and The Office. Not I sir, not I.

I could care less about Jack and what’s-her-name getting of an island in the middle of the ocean, or whether Pam and John Krashinski end up together, or even who the hell replaced Bob Barker. Nope, don't care. But tell talk to me about Timmy Turner and his fairlyodd parents and now we're talking!

It started with the fact that I never wanted lose track of what made me who I am today. Every little kid grew up watching cartoons. Every Saturday morning I would watch The Bugs and Daffy Show. Wiley E. Coyote showed me the power of the Pratfall and crass humor associated with the misfortune of others. Alongside the Looney Tunes classics there was The Animaniacs who taught me how to name all the nations in the world to the sound of the Mexican Hat Dance. That knowledge later allowed me to pass high school geography with flying colors. And let's not even get into Tiny Toon Adventures or Re-Boot.

It all boils down to what it medically referred to as the Peter Pan Syndrome. What doctors’ call and ailment I call a blessing. The Idea of never growing up as kept me young at heart as well as in my mind. Friends that are my same age lethargically lounge around their houses on the weekends desperately trying to catch up on their Tivo'ed shows. While I, on the other hand go out and actually do things. You know why? Because cartoons taught me it was more fun to be outside than inside watching TV! Betcha Ghostwhisperer didn't tell you that...fatty.

I currently am inventing a time machine to get back those 1,051,200 minutes of my life back. I seriously hope this lady finds her Prince Charming in another man and realizes what she could have had.
